My mother in law is in her 50s, drives an older car, and often works late doing photography. She’s very independent, but my wife and I worry about her. She travels all around, often to urban locations, to take photos. We’re particularly worried about her walking to her car, or walking by herself in the city.
I bought her one of these. She has a cell, but there’s no way she’s going to get to it in an emergency with the camera and bag and all the other stuff she often carries. With this thing, she can clip it to her bag, and call for help with one button press.
Pretty good.

After reviewing dozens of similar products, this one is off the charts excellent. Battery life is well beyond what the manufacturer states. I had some problems figuring out how to use it, but it was just my operator error. Just make sure of your phone networks coverage is good, if it’s poor you’re going to get frustrated if its great like mine it will work beyond your wildest expectations. Telstra is great for this in my area, even though I am not a fan of Telstra customer support. I say go with Vodaphone or Optus if you are fairly central.

I bought this as a “present” for my father, but in reality it was for me really. He in his retirement he takes off on sailing trips with his buddies; he is away for a week or so at times. I was able to track his progress daily and hourly actually.
It was extremely accurate, to the point where I was able to see exactly what the weather was like depending on their movement! Though just about everything on the boat became waterlogged, this personal GPS tracker to transmit. Still. Great little device.
