DSU 7 Clinical Suction Unit is used to remove fluids from the airway or respiratory support system and infectious materials from wounds.

The device creates a negative pressure (vacuum) that draws fluids through disposable tubing that is connected to a collection bottle. The fluids are trapped in the collection bottle for proper disposal. It is for use on the order of a physician only.
DSU 7, DJMed suction unit higher vacuum levels are generally selected for oropharyngeal suctioning, and lower vacuum levels are usually selected for tracheal suctioning and for suctioning procedures involving children and infants.

When my husband was diagnosed with throat cancer last year, our world was turned upside down. After his surgery and radiation treatments, he was left with severe mucus buildup that made it difficult for him to breathe at times. Our doctor recommended having a suction machine at home, and I’m so grateful we purchased this DJMED Portable Suction Unit.
The portable design has also been incredibly convenient. The built-in battery allows us to move it from room to room as needed without being tethered to an outlet. And it’s rugged enough to handle being frequently relocated. We just keep it plugged in and charged up whenever not in use.
My one piece of advice would be to order a few extra suction catheters and tubing sets to have on hand for easy replacements when needed. Keeping everything sanitary is crucial.
I truly don’t know what we would have done without this suction unit to help manage my husband’s symptoms at home. It has provided relief and allowed him to rest more comfortably throughout this entire ordeal. While I wish we never needed a machine like this, I’m just grateful we could find such an effective and user-friendly option. It has been a literal lifesaver.

As a respiratory therapist, having a dependable suction unit is an absolute must. This portable suction machine from djmed has been a lifesaver in countless situations when I need to quickly clear a patient’s airway.
The suction power on this unit is impressive – it has a high vacuum capacity which allows it to effectively remove thick fluids and mucus. Even when running on battery, it maintains that strong suction thanks to the powerful internal rechargeable battery.
The collection canister is an ample, about a litter from memory and has a solidly built polycarbonate construction that is autoclavable for sterilization between patients. The canister setup is simple and mess-free when you need to swap it out.
I really appreciate the versatility of this unit – it can be used with a disposable suction catheter for suctioning the airway or can connect to a Yankauer wand for clearing wound drainage. The unit itself is fairly lightweight at just 4kg with the battery installed, so it’s easy to transport wherever I need it.
A couple of minor downsides – the vacuum gauge isn’t extremely precise so you have to go by feel for different suction levels. And the battery life is just an hour or so, so I try to keep it plugged into AC power whenever possible. But those are pretty minimal issues. Come to think about it its quite normal at the size.
Overall, this is a well-designed, powerful suction machine that any medical professional can rely on. It’s become an indispensable piece of equipment for me and has held up incredibly well even with frequent use. Highly recommended if you need a portable and effective suctioning solution.
