This can be useful for patients with more severe cases of skin deterioration, hand contracture, or for restraining patients who are exceptionally at risk of pulling out their IV tubing.

DSU 7, DJMed suction unit higher vacuum levels are generally selected for oropharyngeal suctioning, and lower vacuum levels are usually selected for tracheal suctioning and for suctioning procedures involving children and infants.
